The apprentice, however, managed to get out of Jagos. Khazandar did so, though Xeron captured him and the apprentice, then had them jailed in Jagos. Some weeks later, Xeron came to Khazandar to finish the Blade. His apprentice explains that before Xeron came, some strange creatures arrived to warn Khazandar. When Gelu arrives to Jagos, he finds Khazandar, dead and crucified, but he sees he had been taunted and mocked first, put to display for anyone daring to usurp against the kreegans. He learns it is a monastic order, led by Xeron himself, who was chosen by King Lucifer to carry out his orders to the word and will always find a way to trick enemies. Despite Roland's praises, Gelu thinks he should learn more and asks Judge Fairweather for more info about these elite kreegan forces, called Sons of Erebus. More, interesting, however, is the report of Gelu's scout, Kieran, who reports some small people, the halflings, have fought demons and retreated underground. Gelu remembers only a succubus, who wanted to drink his soul.
Gelu, however, finds a note that Xeron personally wishes to see him dead for his mother's death. For cooperation with the kreegans, Sleen has been sent to Steadwick for trial. Gelu also finds the sage Sleen, who admits Xeron does have Armageddon's Blade and will destroy the world, per King Lucifer's orders. However, he receives word from Catherine Erathian support is beginning to falter. Simply he needs to capture the four towns: Moortanis, Zanidon, Ultana and Jagos.
Gelu is tasked to defeat the remaining demon forces so they may not escape the area. Gelu will be allowed to advance to 24th Level and all of his skills, spells, and experience will be carried over to his next scenario. Gelu must defeat all of the Eeofol armies in this region and cut off any escape route.
